The S-E-M FFA Chapter traveled to Indianapolis, IN on October 24-26th for the National FFA Convention. The group included: Freshman Lauren Ibach, Sophomores Travis Line, Alec Ibach, Emily Ibach, Evan Ibach, Dylan Smith and Ben Trampe, and Junior Andy Schipporeit. Al Smith and Mr. Bowder went as sponsors. While at the conference the group enjoyed watching national speaking contests, dances, and a giant career fair, where they collected information for the various speeches they are preparing for the upcoming District Leadership Skills Contest held in early December. They also attended nightly seessions where they listened to keynote speakers including, Rick Rigsby from Texas A&M and Henry Winkler, and watched some of the FFA Talent. Included in the trip were attendance at workshops aimed at chapter improvement. The workshops our group went to were Chapter Superheros and Ag Awareness. The group went on a tour of the Indianapolis Speedway on Friday that they enjoyed very much. The weather was great and so was the group. We had a great time and can’t wait to go bak next year!
