Fumigation Course Scheduled for Dec. 1 by Page County Extension Service

The Page County Extension Service, Clarinda, will host a Fumigation Continuing Instructional Course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators on Tuesday, Dec. 1. The prerecorded video program will be shown at locations throughout Iowa and is sponsored by Pest Management and the Environment Program (PME). The local site for the Dec. 1 CIC is the Page County Extension Office, Clarinda. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. followed by sessions from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. The registration fee is $35 on or before Nov. 24 and $45 after Nov. 24. To register or to obtain additional information about the CIC, contact the Page County Extension Office staff by phoning (712) 542-5171. The 2009 course will provide continuing instructional credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 7C (Fumigation) and 10 (Demonstration and Research). The course will cover topics such as safe application techniques; pests and pest management; and pesticides and pesticide labels.
